Controller – Medical Device Company (Bedford, MA | Hybrid 4 days onsite)
We’re partnering with a rapidly growing medical device company that has recently achieved FDA approval for its breakthrough technology and is now moving into full commercialization.
To support this next phase of growth, we’re seeking a hands-on, CPA-qualified Controller to lead accounting and finance operations and partner closely with the CFO during this pivotal transition.
About the Role
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will oversee financial reporting, compliance, and budgeting while helping to build scalable systems and processes that support a commercial-stage business.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead core accounting operations: general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, cash management, and reconciliations.
- Manage monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness under U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and management reports to drive informed decisions.
- Partner with leadership on commercial operations — including sales commission planning and reporting.
- Serve as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and valuation professionals.
- Anticipate the CFO’s needs — proactively provide insights and solutions that keep the organization one step ahead.
- Mentor and develop accounting team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
About You
- CPA required or strongly preferred, with 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Experience in medical devices, biotech, or manufacturing preferred.
- Background in supporting a company through commercialization (transition from R&D/clinical to revenue stage) highly valued.
- Familiarity with QAD ERP a plus, though not essential.
- Strong communicator who’s proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Compensation: Competitive base salary, bonus, and benefits package.
Salary : $155,000 - $225,000
