The Senior Commissioning Manager collaborates closely with project stakeholders to deliver a high-quality, fully functional facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the commissioning process for all building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and specialty systems.
- Develop and implement the project commissioning plan, schedules, and protocols in alignment with contract documents and client expectations.
- Work collaboratively with design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives to ensure commissioning requirements are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee and facilitate functional performance testing, system start-ups, and troubleshooting activities.
- Review and verify installation, operation, and maintenance documentation for compliance and completeness.
- Maintain detailed records of commissioning progress, issues, resolutions, and test results.
- Identify and address deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with responsible parties.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations during commissioning activities.
- Provide regular updates and reports to project leadership and the client, highlighting key milestones and challenges.
- Lead commissioning meetings, workshops, and training sessions for project stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CxA, LEED AP) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of commissioning experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial or lead role on large-scale projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of building systems and construction processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex schedules in a dynamic site environment.
- Proficiency in commissioning software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work on-site for the duration of the project (long-term assignment).
