What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Athletic Trainer position at ppcpartners?
The Industrial Athletic Trainer supports workplace health, safety, and injury prevention by providing ergonomic guidance, employee education, and wellness initiatives. This role assists in developing and implementing safety programs, conducting pre-construction reviews, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies. The trainer also tracks and investigates incidents, supports workers’ compensation management, and partners with project teams and leadership to reduce risks, improve work practices, and foster a strong safety culture.
Injury Prevention, Ergonomics, & Wellness:
- Educate employees on proper body mechanics, ergonomics, and safe work practices
- Implement strategies to address ergonomic risks and recommend interventions to reduce strain and injury risk
- Help promote wellness initiatives, educational campaigns, and various wellness events
Provide employees with resources, materials, and guidance to encourage safe, healthy, and productive work habits - Safety Program Implementation & Compliance:
- Assist with the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and pre-construction safety plans in alignment with OSHA regulations and company standards
- Conduct pre-construction project reviews and site visits to ensure compliance with safety requirements
- Provide safety signage, barriers, and equipment to prevent hazards and ensure compliance on job sites
- Partner with branch teams to ensure all safety, first aid, and fire prevention equipment is available and in good working condition
- Monitor industry trends to identify and implement new safety initiatives as needed
Incident Management & Reporting:
- Document and track incidents, accidents, and injuries, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with regulations and company policies
- Investigate accidents and injuries, identify root causes, and communicate findings to management
- Assist with workers’ compensation claims management in collaboration with supervisors
- Prepare documentation and evidence for use in accident reports, insurance reviews, and investigations
Collaboration, Training, & Continuous Improvement:
- Partner with project teams to develop hazard identification and elimination strategies for daily work tasks
- Assist with evaluating work environments and recommending improvements to reduce risks and prevent injuries
- Support training and educational efforts to ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations in a construction environment
- Collaborate with management, supervisors, and employees to foster a strong safety culture built on accountability and continuous improvement
- Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:
- Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
- Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.
- Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents.
- Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
- Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.
