The Director, Operations provides overall leadership for branch operations, driving performance within projects, budgeting, workforce management, and customer relations. Responsibilities include forecasting work plans, managing billing and collections, developing and executing sales strategies, and overseeing personnel development. This position plays a key role in achieving safety, productivity, and profitability targets, while fostering a high-performance culture and promoting continuous improvement across teams and processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Monitoring:
- Forecast what is to be done on a week-to-week basis, when, and by whom
- Analyze and forecast factors that affect results to maximize efficiency
- Develop appropriate programs, strategies, and supervision
- Complete 1- and 3-year plans for branch; assist in developing company-wide strategic plans
- Monitor the progress of departmental and company objectives/budgets
- Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, safety, and on-time delivery
- Share manpower, resources, and tools across branches as needed
Sales & Customer Satisfaction:
- Prospect for new business leads on an ongoing basis to ensure growth targets
- Provide budgets, estimate proposals, and develop client relationships to meet (or exceed) sales growth expectations
- Develop and execute annual sales plans inclusive of revenue and margin targets
- Survey all customers; achieve minimum satisfaction ratings and follow up on feedback for continuous improvement
Personnel Leadership & Development:
- Mentor, coach, and lead personnel across the organization, building a high-performing and growth-oriented team environment
- Provide performance appraisals, feedback and growth opportunities for team members
Participate in employee recruitment, hiring, counseling, and terminations (ensure alignment with company policy) - Offer job-specific training through both on-the-job and formal settings (ensure required educational hours are met)
- Partner with Human Resources (HR) to support workforce planning and staffing needs
- Promote continuous learning and improvements; participate in and encourage continuing education programs
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive initiatives that improve operational excellence and promote long-term strategic growth
- Facilitate process improvements in field labor productivity; implement tools for efficiency
- Lead organization to achieve or exceed productivity targets
- Champion an innovation mindset and proactively manage change initiatives to enhance results
Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:
- Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
- Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.
- Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents.
- Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
- Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.
