About the Role
The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for owning the order management, pricing execution, and delivery performance for equipment sales across industrial and performance markets. This role ensures that orders are entered accurately, priced correctly, and executed on time, maintaining full visibility and control from order entry through shipment. The position works closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to translate customer commitments into executable orders and ensure delivery without slippage. The role requires strong attention to detail, commercial discipline, and cross-functional coordination to support high-quality execution and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Own the full order lifecycle from entry through shipment for equipment sales.
- Ensure accurate and complete order entry in ERP systems, including configuration, pricing, and terms.
- Validate pricing and margins prior to order release, ensuring compliance with approved structures and thresholds.
- Maintain real-time visibility of all orders in ERP/CRM systems.
- Proactively monitor order progress and identify risks to schedule, cost, or scope.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure on-time delivery.
- Lead order kick-offs, milestone tracking, and factory acceptance readiness activities.
- Manage change orders and ensure proper documentation, approvals, and execution.
- Escalate issues impacting delivery timelines, pricing, or customer commitments.
- Monitor inbound web leads and inquiries; convert simple opportunities and route complex opportunities to Sales.
- Track all lead and order activity in CRM systems with high data accuracy.
- Maintain weekly reports and dashboards providing visibility into order status, risks, and performance metrics.
- Act as the internal coordinator across Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to ensure execution alignment.
- Participate in planning, production, and quality reviews to support delivery commitments.
- Drive continuous improvement in order management, pricing discipline, and execution processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of operational and commercial objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in:
- Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial)
- Business, Operations Management, or related field
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in:
- Order management, commercial operations, or project coordination
- Industrial, capital equipment, or engineered-to-order (ETO/CTO) environments
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Order lifecycle execution from entry through delivery
- Cross-functional coordination across Sales, Engineering, and Operations
- Pricing validation, margin awareness, and commercial execution
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems required
- Project management experience preferred, including:
- Managing milestones, deliverables, and cross-functional execution
- Exposure to formal methodologies or certifications (PMP, CAPM, or similar) is a plus
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of order management and execution within capital equipment or industrial environments.
- Working knowledge of pricing structures, margin validation, and commercial terms.
- High attention to detail in order entry, documentation, and system accuracy.
- Ability to interpret technical inputs and ensure correct configuration of orders.
- Strong project coordination and execution management skills.
- Ability to proactively identify risks and drive timely resolution.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Infor, SAP, Oracle) and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow).
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, including use of Excel and dashboards.
- Effective communication skills across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
