Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced oil change technician who is responsible for performing oil changes and basic maintenance services on a variety of vehicles. This role requires a strong knowledge of automotive systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The oil change technician must also possess excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle maintenance recommendations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform Oil Changes: Conduct oil changes on various types of vehicles, including draining and refilling engine oil, replacing oil filters, and disposing of used oil properly.
Basic Vehicle Maintenance: Complete basic maintenance services, such as tire rotations, air filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and inspections of belts, hoses, and other vehicle components.
Inspect and Test Vehicles: Perform visual inspections and basic tests on vehicles to identify potential issues or areas that require attention. Report any findings to the service advisor or supervisor.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all services performed, including oil change intervals, mileage, and recommendations for future maintenance or repairs.
Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, providing information and answering questions about oil changes and other automotive services. Recommend additional services based on manufacturer guidelines and vehicle conditions.
Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work area to ensure a safe and organized work environment. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as an oil change technician or similar role in an automotive service environment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Familiarity with various types of oil filters, oil grades, and their respective applications.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment related to oil changes and basic maintenance.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
