Environmental Senior Project Manager
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients worldwide. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Project Manager with 10 years of experience managing energy infrastructure siting, routing, permitting, and construction compliance projects in support of our Environmental Project Manager/Planning Department team.
This full-time opportunity offers a remote workstyle within the Pacific time zone with the option to work out of multiple offices throughout California. Travel up to 30% of the time for client and internal meetings.
Roles And Responsibilities
The primary focus for this Senior Project Manager is to lead environmental services and strategies to clients involving siting, routing, permitting, and construction of electric transmission lines and substations, energy generation projects, and midstream pipelines.The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and responsive professional, with strong communication and organizational skills.A proven history in business development, project leadership, and supervisory experience is required.
As a member of our senior project management team, the candidate will be a leader in business development of energy projects and contribute to the strategic plan in California for the Environmental Division.

Base Salary Range: $175,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
The range for this position is displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.

Responsibilities Include But May Not Be Limited To
- Market new and existing clients with internal members of the organization and establish new leads. Help to expand engagements to develop clientele and win work. Lead proposal preparation for larger projects
- Participate in and contribute to annual strategic business planning and department plan efforts
- Manage multiple projects in various phases of development and geographic location ranging from routing/siting phase to construction compliance phase
- Lead collection of environmental field resource data collection along with preparation of environmental document and permit applications; coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for project permitting
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, attorneys, planners, GIS analysts, permitting and environmental resource specialists, land agents, and construction compliance monitors
- Communicate with the public and community stakeholders at hearings and public meetings.
- Client coordination including preparing and monitoring project scope, budget, schedule, and forecasting
- Participate in field reviews, project compliance inspections, and site meetings
- B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban & Regional Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or related degree
- Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience managing environmental licensing and permitting in California, preferably related to utility operations
- Extensive knowledge and demonstrated expertise in NEPA and CEQA is required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staff
- Travel up to 30% of the time for client and internal meetings.
- Professional certifications as applicable to technical expertise
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental licensing & permitting regulations to facilitate energy infrastructure projects in California
