As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in supporting Valcom’s manufacturing operations by sourcing, purchasing, and managing components and materials. You’ll maintain strong supplier relationships, ensure timely and cost-effective procurement, and collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to forecast demand and manage inventory. This role requires strong organizational skills, negotiation abilities, and a proactive approach to addressing supply chain challenges.

This is a full-time, benefitted position working on-site at our Roanoke manufacturing facility, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An occasional shift in hours may be necessary to accommodate business needs. As a Member Of Our Procurement Team, You Will
- Source and purchase components, materials, and services to meet production requirements.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and pricing align with company standards.
- Evaluate supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Engineering and Production to forecast demand, manage inventory, and prevent supply disruptions
- Track market trends and pricing to anticipate risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, negotiate terms, and monitor delivery schedules.
- Analyze procurement data to streamline processes and reduce lead times.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoicing or payment discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements.
- 3–5 years of procurement experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience sourcing and negotiating for components
- Familiarity with ERP systems (such as Sage) and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
