About the Role
Picture a typical day where you walk the floor first thing, check the overnight downtime log, and huddle with technicians to align on priorities. As the Plant Equipment Reliability Supervisor, you guide the daily work of a skilled maintenance crew to keep every machine in the facility running safely, efficiently, and within spec. You'll coordinate preventive maintenance, dive into tough breakdowns, and partner with production to keep schedules on track.
What You'll Do
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team: Set direction, assign work, and ensure schedules are met while developing high performance across the team.
- Own preventive maintenance: Plan and manage recurring PMs to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and repair: Take point on diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues—plus automation and PLC-related faults—to restore operations quickly.
- Installations, upgrades, and calibration: Oversee new equipment installs, line upgrades, and calibration activities so assets run within optimal specifications.
- Safety and compliance: Enforce safety procedures and ensure work complies with company policies and environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records of PMs, repairs, inspections, and findings for audits and future reference.
- Continuous improvement: Identify reliability gaps, propose solutions, and implement cost- and uptime-focused improvements.
- Partner with production: Coordinate with production leaders to balance maintenance windows with throughput goals and minimize disruptions.
- Train and mentor: Coach new and experienced technicians to expand their skills and build a capable bench.
What You'll Bring
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Experience: 5 years in industrial/manufacturing maintenance with 2 years leading or supervising others.
- Technical breadth: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; exposure to automation and PLC troubleshooting is a plus.
- Problem-solving: Proven ability to quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication to coordinate across maintenance and production leadership.
- Physical demands: Ability to lift heavy items, work in confined areas, stand for extended periods, and safely use tools and machinery.
Preferred
- Background in environments such as automotive, mechanical assembly, or electronics assembly.
- Familiarity with CMMS and related maintenance software.
