Technician

About the Role:

As a Technician at Hyundai of Folsom, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of vehicles within our retail trade environment. Your expertise will directly contribute to customer satisfaction by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of automotive systems and components. You will work closely with service advisors and other team members to deliver timely and high-quality service that meets manufacturer standards. This position demands a strong commitment to technical excellence, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or equivalent technical certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive repair or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and automotive repair equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a dealership environment, preferably with Hyundai vehicles.
• Advanced ASE certifications in specific areas such as engine repair, electrical systems, or HVAC.
• Completion of a formal automotive technology program from an accredited institution.
• Strong computer skills, including familiarity with dealership management software and electronic service manuals.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical systems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks to ensure vehicle longevity and performance.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and warranty requirements.
• Collaborate with service advisors to communicate repair needs and timelines to customers clearly and professionally.
• Stay current with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training and certification programs.
• Ensure the workshop is organized, clean, and compliant with all safety regulations and environmental standards.
