As a Service Manager at Potamkin Hyundai, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service department. You will lead a team of technicians and service advisors to ensure exceptional customer service, efficient workflow, and the highest standards of vehicle maintenance and repair. Your role will involve managing customer inquiries, scheduling appointments, coordinating service tasks, and optimizing departmental performance to achieve organizational objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and motivate service department staff, including technicians, service advisors, and support personnel.
    • Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth.
    • Ensure compliance with dealership policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  2. Customer Service:

    • Greet customers and address their service needs promptly and courteously.
    • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations with professionalism and empathy.
    • Work closely with service advisors to communicate service recommendations, estimates, and updates to customers.
    • Ensure timely completion of service jobs and maintain open communication with customers throughout the process.
  3. Operational Management:

    • Oversee the scheduling and allocation of service appointments and repair orders.
    • Monitor workflow and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity.
    • Coordinate with parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary components and accessories.
    • Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, and oversee procurement as needed.
    • Implement and maintain quality control measures to uphold service standards and customer satisfaction.
  4. Financial Performance:

    • Develop and implement strategies to drive service department revenue and profitability.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as labor efficiency, gross profit, and customer retention.
    • Analyze financial reports and trends to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
    • Work closely with dealership management to develop annual budgets and forecasts for the service department.
  5. Compliance and Reporting:

    • Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines, warranty procedures, and service campaigns.
    • Maintain accurate records of service transactions, repairs, and warranty claims.
    • Prepare regular reports on departmental performance, including revenue, expenses, and customer satisfaction metrics.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting the automotive service sector.
