What are the responsibilities and job description for the QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) position at PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD?
You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (SHIPBUILDING) in the NON-NUCLEAR INSPECTION DIVISION, QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
***TEMPORARY PROMOTION NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR AND MAY BECOME PERMANENT without further competition***
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience providing in-depth technical analyses while performing submarine certification operations work, covering all aspects of Level I material installation and Subsafe system controls.
* Experience working with production management, inspection, and quality control processes.
* Experience interpreting quality assurance directives, instructions, plans, standards, and procedures.
* Experience verifying, certifying and maintaining documentation used to assure the safety, operational capabilities, and material condition of submarines.
GS-09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience applying working knowledge of submarine piping systems, installation procedures, and test criteria.
* Experience interpreting applicable documentation that governs technical repair processes, test methods, and certification requirements.
* Experience preparing correspondence and providing guidance pertaining to quality assurance practices.
* Experience assisting with Level I certification control and Subsafe requirements.
