Job Summary
We are looking for a jack of all trades for our Farm Facilities and Grounds Team at Pond Hill Farm!
Pond Hill Farm is a 198 acre family-owned agrotourism destination with four greenhouses, two vineyards, farm animals, sawmill, winery, brewery, and farm fresh restaurant. You will be actively involved in caring for the property, growing fresh flowers and produce , indoor and outdoor maintenance, animal care, on-site construction ,and an ever-evolving list of projects that continue to grow the farm.
The schedule for our Farm Facilities and Grounds crew is Tuesday through Saturday 9-5, though this shifts to Wednesday through Sunday with business needs throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the grounds throughout the year including mowing and lawn care during our warmer months and snow removal throughout winter.
- Oversee crop cultivation activities including planting, watering, pruning, greenhouse management, and growing experience to promote healthy yields.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery including tractors, irrigation systems, and heavy equipment such as forklifts and power tools.
- Care for the farm animals, including maintaining the livestock barn and pasture, handling, feeding, cleaning, and health monitoring.
- Perform manual handling duties such as lifting, moving supplies, fencing repairs, and equipment setup to support daily farm activities.
- Conduct routine equipment and facilities repairs/maintenance both indoors and outdoors using hand tools, welding techniques, electrical knowledge, and basic mechanical knowledge.
Experience
- Facilities and Grounds maintenance experience including basic electrical, plumbing, appliance, and machinery knowledge
- Farm and outdoor experience including animal care, vegetable production, and greenhouse management
- Hands-on experience safely operating and maintaining agricultural machinery such as tractors, forklifts, power tools, and irrigation systems.
- Experience in carpentry, building, welding, and wood working
Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
