Job Summary
Join our team as a Seasonal Market Attendant, where you will greet each customer that comes to visit our 198 acre farm, pizza kitchen, and winery. Experience our busiest time of year when Fall is in the air, serving customers as they purchase pumpkins from one of the biggest patches around. You'll help stock and keep organized our Michigan made products and ensure our cozy farm market standards are upheld for each family that comes through. Talk to guests and make recommendations for what to do and see on the farm, including live music, u-pick berries, wine tasting, 6.5 miles of trails, and so much more!
We are looking for an enthusiastic seasonal staff member from mid-August through the end of October with evening and weekend availability. Pond Hill Farm is open Wednesday through Saturdays 12-8 and Sundays 12-6.
Duties
- Navigate the POS system and cash register when checking customers out while keeping a fast pace but cool head during peak times.
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions about the farm offerings, and provide great service during their shopping and check out experience
- Assist with pricing products, organizing merchandise, and updating signage.
- Keep the store looking neat, tidy, and full by restocking, adjusting displays, and keeping our work and customer areas clean.
- Opening and closing duties including counting the tills, sweeping, moping, stocking, and general organizational or cleaning tasks
- Highlight our in-house and locally made products including wines, ciders, beers, and canned goods like jams, dressings, and sauces.
Skills
- Retail and customer service experience a plus
- POS system knowledge
- Basic math and money skills when making change, counting the till, etc.
- Excellent communication skills both with team members and guests
- Ability to stock both high and low shelves, lifting boxes and merchandise when needed
- Attention to detail especially when stocking to ensure all product is on the sales floor and looking great
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
