Overview
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer (L3) to join a high-performing infrastructure team supporting a complex enterprise environment in Milwaukee. This is a hands-on, onsite role ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in troubleshooting, optimization, and real-time network operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of the organization’s core network infrastructure while partnering across technical teams to deliver reliable, business-critical connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise-grade routers and switches
- Provide L3 escalation support for network incidents, outages, and performance issues
- Execute network changes, upgrades, and migrations in alignment with change control processes
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities
- Support and troubleshoot:
- Routing protocols (BGP)
- VLANs, STP, QoS, and trunking
- Collaborate with security, server, and application teams to resolve cross-functional issues
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams and configurations
- Deliver hands-on onsite support including:
- Hardware replacements
- Cabling and connectivity troubleshooting
- Physical infrastructure support
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Cisco (or equivalent enterprise networking platforms)
- Deep expertise in Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking concepts
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues independently
- Experience supporting production enterprise environments
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and structured change management processes
