What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reservationist/Dispatch position at Polynesian Cultural Center?
Ensures that customers contacting the Polynesian Cultural Center, either by phone or in person, receive the best sales service possible by taking and processing reservations and coordinating with other departments as required. Acts as customer contact regarding admission packages available, prices, and other services available. Coordinates, routes and executes the bus transportation needs of all bus movements for the Polynesian Cultural Center, and to record and file daily records of bus orders, route schedules, coordination forms, clear and concise notes relevant to specific transportation problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-orders bus needs with various transportation companies and determines how many buses will be used for each bus movement. Routes and coordinates transportation manifests for loaders in a timely manner so they are not late to their first assigned stops. Works extensively with the loaders on the portable radios and coordinates last minute passenger add-ons or re-routing of buses.
- Answers incoming phone calls, radio calls, faxes while dispatching. Keeps bus utilization in the 80% ratio that's beneficial to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Keeps detailed notes on bus routes, pick-up times, passenger counts, no-shows, departure times from Waikiki, and all other pertinent information sufficient for tracking, audit, and customer service purposes.
- Answers questions and makes reservations for customers/wholesalers who call the direct line or the 1-800 phone numbers.
