Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatch/Scheduling Specialist to coordinate transportation operations efficiently and ensure seamless delivery and pickup services. In this vital role, you will manage dispatch activities, optimize scheduling processes, and communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams. • Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight movement, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries across multiple locations
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine, to schedule shipments, track loads, and update relevant data entry logs
• Communicate with drivers via multi-line phone systems and GPS tools to provide routing instructions, updates, and support as needed
• Monitor fleet management systems to optimize routes using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS technology for efficient transportation planning
• Collaborate with warehouse teams on shipping & receiving schedules, ensuring accurate data entry into AS400 and other logistics platforms
• Maintain clear communication with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to coordinate freight movements and resolve scheduling conflicts promptly
• Conduct analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements in logistics and supply chain operations

Requirements

• Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and transportation planning principles to support efficient dispatching
• Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently
• Demonstrated analysis skills for reviewing logistics data, freight movements, and supply chain workflows
• Proficiency in data entry tasks with high accuracy using platforms like AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and freight coordination processes
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in scheduling and dispatching activities
