Position Summary
Maintenance Mechanic
Polyfil Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic who is dependable, adaptable, and takes pride in their work.
The right candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and eager to learn.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and facility equipment, including extruders, continuous mixers, pneumatic conveyors, pelletizing systems, motors, pumps, and general plant systems.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and maintain a variety of mechanical and electrical systems on production and facility equipment.
- Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on machinery (extruders, mixers, conveyors, feeders, pumps, motors).
- Perform all maintenance activities in accordance with Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Assist with equipment installations, setups, and job changeovers.
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs as needed.
- Identify and prepare parts, tools, and materials needed for maintenance tasks.
- Complete work orders and preventive maintenance documentation using the company's CMMS.
- Collaborate with operators, engineers, and management to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
· Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification a plus.
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, work from lifts, work around hot equipment.
- Strong mechanical and basic electrical aptitude.
- Experience with pumps, motors, pneumatic conveyors, bearings, and extrusion systems preferred.
- PLC, automation, or electronics knowledge a plus.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and manuals.
- Basic computer or tablet skills for PM logging and work orders.
- Safety-focused and able to follow all company procedures and PPE requirements.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
