Position Summary

The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing of high-quality products. This role provides leadership to production personnel, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

· Supervise, train, coach, and support production employees to maximize productivity and maintain a high level of performance.

· Coordinate daily production activities to meet production schedules, quality standards, and operational objectives.

· Develop, implement, and maintain efficient production processes for both standard manufacturing operations and research & development or developmental production trials.

· Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize equipment utilization.

· Ensure accurate completion and maintenance of production records, inventory transactions, and manufacturing documentation.

· Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

· Assist with troubleshooting production issues and collaborate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance.

· Monitor raw material usage and finished product quality to minimize scrap and maximize production yields.

· Support employee development through coaching, performance feedback, and on-the-job training.

· Maintain effective communication between shifts and departments.

· Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical education or manufacturing certifications are an asset.

· Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

· Experience in plastics manufacturing, extrusion, or compounding is strongly preferred.

· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

· Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and continuous improvement principles.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems.

· Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

· Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to work safely around industrial manufacturing equipment.

· Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules when production demands require.

Compensation

Pay Range: $20.00–$22.00 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
