Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Dietary Aide to join our team and support the nutritional needs of our residents. In this role, you will play an important part in delivering a positive dining experience by assisting with meal preparation, service, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
At Polaris Rehab, our dietary team helps create a comfortable, home-like atmosphere where residents feel cared for and respected. Your work directly contributes to their health, satisfaction, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of meals, snacks, and beverages in accordance with established menus and dietary guidelines
Serve meals to residents while ensuring proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards are followed
Set up and break down dining areas, ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including dishwashing and general sanitation tasks
Follow all facility procedures, dietary guidelines, and state and federal regulations
Assist with monitoring and maintaining inventory of food supplies and kitchen items
Support residents during meal service, including assisting with feeding when appropriate
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and care teams to ensure residents’ dietary needs are met
Participate in nutrition-related programs or initiatives as needed
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate service to residents and interact respectfully with families and team members
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
Attention to detail with the ability to follow dietary instructions, meal plans, and recipes accurately
Ability to follow directions and adhere to established procedures and safety standards
Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform tasks related to food preparation and service
Dependable, organized, and able to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience in food service or healthcare dietary setting preferred, but not required
