Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dietary Cook to join our team and play an essential role in supporting the health and well-being of our residents. In this position, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring all dietary needs and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with standardized recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Ensure meals are prepared to meet special dietary requirements, including therapeutic diets, allergies, and diabetic needs
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control
- Assist with meal service, ensuring residents receive meals in a timely, respectful, and pleasant manner
- Prepare snacks and support food preparation for special events and resident activities
- Assist with inventory management, including monitoring food supplies and communicating needs for ordering
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment in accordance with established procedures
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, stoves, refrigerators, and dishwashers
- Complete required documentation such as food logs, temperature records, and inventory tracking
- Properly dispose of waste materials in accordance with facility policies and safety standards
- Follow direction from the Dietary Manager or Head Cook and collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Interact respectfully with residents, responding to preferences and needs to enhance their dining experience
- Comply with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Previous experience in food service, dietary, or kitchen operations preferred, ideally in a healthcare or long-term care setting
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to follow recipes, portion controls, and dietary restrictions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with residents and staff
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
