Job Summary: Provides assistance to the provider(s) through interventional procedures to provide valuable relief to patients.
Essential Functions:
- Gather data of the patient receiving non-invasive and invasive treatments for pain relief using subjective and objective observations
- Take patient histories and vital signs
- Recognize changes in patient comfort level/condition that require immediate attention and notify registered nurse and/or medical provider
- Provide medical provider with technical assistance for procedures including operation of C-Arm
- Scrub, circulate and assist during surgical procedures
- Assume responsibility for overall cleanliness of clinical area
- Assume responsibility for sterilization of equipment
- Assume responsibility for equipment/linen inventory; order more as needed
- Assist/coordinate quality assurance activities
- Perform tasks in a safe and timely manner while assuring patient's dignity and privacy
- Maintain familiarity with pain-specific treatments/procedures and the necessary equipment/instrumentation
- Maintain written documentation of assessments, procedure/treatment forms, discharge instructions
- Able to perform a variety of other clinical tasks, including scheduling appointments, assisting with prescriptions, operating x-ray machine and EKG
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Maintain a courteous, considerate and respectful demeanor with patients and visitors
- Resolve interpersonal conflicts that arise in a professional manner
- Maintain consistent attendance, reliability and punctuality
- Accept constructive criticism and attempt to use it to improve personal practice
- Make appropriate arrangements for absences
Other Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as assigned; including but not limited to projects, office cleaning, or filling in for other positions during absences.
