Full Job Description
Plymouth Spring Company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to support our purchasing and supply chain operations. This role ensures materials are available to meet production schedules while maintaining cost efficiency and supplier quality.
Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials, components, and supplies to support manufacturing operations
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with suppliers
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning
- Track and expedite orders to prevent shortages or delays
- Evaluate supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery)
- Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP/MRP systems
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
Qualifications
- 2 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- Experience in metal manufacturing or industrial products
- Experience with Epicor ERP is a plus
