Role Description
This position is responsible for day to day function of the department and driving the team toward achieving shift and department goals through effective communication skills and fair implementation and administration of company policies. Supervisor’s responsibility includes employee safety and welfare, staff development, quality, productivity enhancements and general housekeeping.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures a safe work environment is maintained including required safety training. Ensures environmental standards are maintained.
2. Ensures housekeeping expectations are maintained including 5S process.
3. Provides day-to-day leadership to ensure a high performance, customer-oriented work environment that supports achieving the department and company mission, objectives, values and goals.
4. Working knowledge of all machines, equipment and assembly.
5. Schedules and assigns work including the maintaining of labor levels required on a day to day basis in all areas of department.
6. Prepares and reviews production reports and actively participates in daily production meeting
7. Maintains supply levels for all areas of department.
8. Plans, supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel, establishes performance requirements and personal development targets.
9. Regularly monitors performance including attendance record keeping on a timely basis.
10. Provides coaching for performance improvement and development; takes disciplinary action to address performance deficiencies in a fair, consistent manner and on a timely basis.
11. Ability to coach and empower employees to achieve department and personal goals.
12. Provides consistent and structured feedback to improve safety, quality, efficiency and morale.
13. Abides by standard code of conduct in all interactions with subordinates and managers of the business both inside and outside of the department.
14. Assists in implementation and maintaining of all manufacturing methods used by department, including ISO procedures.
15. Facilitate implementing and maintaining production and quality processes.
16. Facilitate problem solving tools including root cause analysis for internal and external quality concerns in a timely manner.
17. Ensure a successful hand off between shifts on a daily basis including communication of production expectations, quality concerns, housekeeping, etc.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises production employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; monitoring and evaluating employee performance in completing employee reviews in accordance with applicable PlayPower programs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
-High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
-Three to five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
-Proven ability to lead and influence others in a fast-paced environment with daily challenges
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Requires working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook. Requires basic knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and Adobe Reader. Ability to use Tracker, Syteline and other PlayPower specific programs.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to Multi-task, follow-through on assigned tasks to completion, and work without supervision. Ability to develop working relationships with a variety of people. Ability to possess a strong attention to detail and strong sense of urgency.
