Position Overview
This position is responsible for supporting employee activities and motivating the team toward achieving shift and departmental goals through effective communication skills and fair implementation and administration of company policies. The Team Leader’s responsibility includes employee safety and welfare, quality, productivity enhancements and general housekeeping.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1.Ensures a safe work environment is maintained including required safety training. Ensures environmental standards are maintained.
2.Possesses a willingness to be mentored by a member of senior leadership. Serves as a liaison between production department employees and Supervisor/Manager.
3.Ensures housekeeping expectations are maintained including 5S 1 process.
4.Provides day-to-day leadership to ensure a high performance, customer-oriented work environment that supports achieving the department and company mission, objectives, values, and goals.
5.Working knowledge of all machines, equipment, and assembly.
6.Assigns work including the maintaining of labor levels required on a day-to-day basis in specific areas to meet production demands.
7.Takes direction from leadership and applies expertise toward daily production goals.
8.Actively participates in necessary meetings and GEMBA boards.
9.Assists in planning, coordinating, and evaluating the performance of assigned personnel, supports performance requirements and personal development targets by aligning with the Supervisor on actions.
10.Regularly monitors performance including attendance record keeping on a timely basis.
11.Assists in implementation and maintaining of all manufacturing methods used by department, including ISO procedures and lean initiatives.
12.Facilitate implementing and maintaining TPS processes.
13.Facilitate problem solving tools including root cause analysis for internal and external quality concerns in a timely manner.
14.Ensure a successful hand off between shifts on a daily basis including communication of production expectations, quality concerns, housekeeping, etc.
15.Conducts or participates in staff meetings, including standup meetings and tailgates.
16.Maintains professionalism by adhering to conduct guidelines and modelling behaviors of a leader.
17.Supports company initiatives as a leader of business.
18.Maintain tact, professionalism, and diplomacy in all communication to managers, co-workers, peers, and production team members in all methods of communication including written, verbal, and non-verbal cues.
19.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
?High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
?Two to five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with progression through roles preferred.
?Requires working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook. Requires knowledge of Syteline and Tracker. Requires ability to learn new software programs as technology advances.
Reasoning Ability:
?Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
?Ability to multi-task, follow-through on assigned tasks to completion, and work with limited oversight and supervision. Ability to develop working relationships with a variety of people. Must possess a strong attention to detail and strong sense of urgency.
Mathematical Skills:
?Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply the concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
Other Skills and Abilities:
?Ability to write reports, emails, and procedure manuals such as training materials.
?Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions when corresponding with groups of managers, clients, customers, employees, peers, and the general public.
Attendance Requirement: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such a level as is determined in the company’s employee handbook. Must be available and willing to work overtime hours as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
