Electrical Engineer – Charlotte, NC (Hybrid - $100k – $140k] bonus | PE support | ABET-accredited
A growing multidisciplinary A/E design consultancy is hiring an experienced Electrical Engineer in Charlotte, NC. You'll design building electrical systems across a varied portfolio of commercial, healthcare, education, and civic projects, working alongside architects and engineers in a collaborative studio environment.
What you'll do:
- Lead electrical design — power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Produce calculations, specifications, layouts, and construction documents
- Support feasibility studies, facility evaluations, and cost estimating
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams
- Run site visits and support construction administration
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IBC, IECC, and related codes
- Mentor junior engineers as the team grows
What you'll need:
- BSEE from an ABET-accredited program
- 5 years designing building electrical systems
- Working knowledge of NEC, IBC, and IECC
- Hands-on experience with power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage design
- Strong coordination and communication skills in a deadline-driven environment
Nice to have:
- PE or FE certification
- Autodesk Revit / BIM
- Bluebeam, ELUMtools, and/or VISUAL
- Prior MEP or A/E consulting experience
