Mechanical Engineer
Location: Baltimore, MD - Work Arrangement: Hybrid
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team delivering innovative mechanical building system designs for commercial and institutional facilities. You'll play a key role in designing HVAC systems for renovations, facility upgrades, and new construction projects while working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities
- Design HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and institutional projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, equipment selections, specifications, layouts, and construction documents.
- Perform facility assessments, feasibility studies, and support cost estimating.
- Assist during construction administration, including site visits and responding to contractor questions.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and schedules.
- Mentor and support junior engineers where appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 5 to 10 years of mechanical engineering experience with a strong focus on HVAC design.
- FE certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience designing systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, or educational facilities is preferred.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system design and mechanical engineering principles.
- Working knowledge of ASHRAE, IMC, IBC, and SMACNA standards.
- Experience performing engineering calculations and system layouts.
- Energy modeling experience is a plus.
- Experience with facility evaluations and mechanical system upgrades.
