Mechanical Engineer - Baltimore, MD | Hybrid
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team focused on the design and development of commercial and institutional mechanical systems. This position will support HVAC system design, facility evaluations, renovations, and new construction projects while contributing to high-quality, efficient engineering solutions for complex facilities.
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of hands-on mechanical engineering and HVAC design experience, strong Revit/BIM expertise, and a solid understanding of calculations, layouts, specifications, and applicable building codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial and institutional projects
- Prepare calculations, specifications, layouts, and construction documentation
- Support facility assessments, feasibility studies, and cost estimating efforts
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders
- Maintain accurate project documentation and schedules
- Mentor and support junior engineering staff as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 5-10 years of mechanical engineering and HVAC design experience
- FE or PE license preferred
- Experience working on commercial, institutional, healthcare, or educational facilities preferred
- Strong communication and project coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical design principles
- Strong understanding of codes and standards including ASHRAE, IMC, IBC, and SMACNA
- Energy modeling experience preferred
- Experience with facility evaluations and system upgrades

- Autodesk Revit (BIM)

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000-$120,000 depending on experience
