Biologist

The STL Transformation Production Team is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to support the Crop Science R&D pipeline by supplying transgenic crops and sterile products for testing. The successful candidate will perform plant tissue culture tasks, including agrobacterium-mediated plant transformation, molecular characterization of transgenic events, and transferring of transformed plants to soil. The role also involves working with chemical components and various equipment to supply sterile agar and liquid products to global customers, with an emphasis on timely delivery and collaboration. Additionally, the selected individual will be expected to demonstrate a high level of lab citizenship, including the maintenance and cleaning of lab spaces.

Required Skills: A bachelor's degree in plant biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or microbiology, along with at least one year of lab experience, is required. The individual should be self-motivated, be able to work efficiently while maintaining quality of said work, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate attention to detail. Experience with databases and the ability to work in a team setting are essential. Familiarity with production environments, tissue culture, media preparation, sterile techniques, molecular cloning, and gene regulation is a plus. Willingness to work occasional early mornings and late evenings, M-F, 40hrs a week, is also required.

Pay Rate: $30-33/Hr *Salary will be commensurate with candidate experience
