What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biologist position at US Tech Solutions?
Duration: 06 Months Contract
Duties:
- Supporting insect bioassays with artificial diet to assess insecticidal compounds, following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) 40 CFR part 160 procedures.
- Receiving, maintaining, and tracking insect colonies and lab supplies using electronic inventory systems.
- Maintaining agricultural crops in growth chambers or greenhouses.
- Providing quality control for scientific data and reports.
- Maintaining general laboratory cleanliness and equipment.
- Assisting with additional lab tasks and occasionally working weekends as needed.
Skills:
- Strong foundation in entomology or related biological science.
- Proficiency in standard lab techniques, including pipetting and solution preparation. Experience with insect bioassays preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, team-based environment.
- High attention to detail and good writing skills. Experience with study documentation using electronic data systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with quality management systems such GLP, ISO, or equivalent systems is preferred.
Education:
- BS/ MS/ PhD degree, or at least two years of laboratory assay experience, to perform technical studies evaluating product safety
