PCU Nursing Job Details
- Location: Greensboro, NC 27401
- Healthcare Setting: 5 West Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 34 beds, all telemetry monitored
- Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel RN contract)
- Contract Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 10/14/2025 – End: 2/3/2026)
- Shift Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30), 36 hours/week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1820-$1870
- Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Required
- Floating: Required between all Cone Health campuses
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state, must be in hand at submission)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Proficiency in cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia management
- Peripheral and PICC line care and management
- Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience with PCU patient ratios (1:5)
- EPIC charting system experience required
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
- Education verification and background check required
- No local candidates accepted (must reside outside 50-mile radius of Greensboro)
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with stroke, renal, endocrine, gastrointestinal, hematological disorders, and sepsis
- Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias
- Administer and titrate cardiac, vasoactive, and insulin drips
- Perform peripheral and PICC line care and management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Float to other units and Cone Health campuses as needed
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health record system
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
