The Recruiting and Operations Coordinator is responsible for all functions related to recruiting, onboarding, retention, and operational compliance for both local commercial and household goods divisions. This role works closely with local operations to ensure their areas of responsibility are executed effectively to maintain or improve capacity and quality. The position provides operational support as needed for the operations team and requires high energy, independent decision-making, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

- Recruit and hire service team members in alignment with strategic staffing goals.
- Manage the full hiring process including job postings, applicant tracking, interviews, and onboarding.
- Administer driver qualifications including background checks, drug screens, DOT physicals, and road tests.
- Ensure compliance with operational paperwork, field technology, and training standards.
- Provide performance feedback and evaluations for new hires to support growth and retention.
- Support dispatch and planning teams with supervision and operational coordination.
- Maintain accurate employee records across internal systems (SharePoint, Movers Suite, MS Crew, Learning Hub).
- Promote HR initiatives such as health screenings, open enrollment, and training programs.
- Respond to candidate and employee inquiries promptly, including outside regular business hours.
- Foster positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, and customers.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Dispatch/Operations/Industry experience a plus
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of various levels in an effective and professional manner.
- Excellent organizational skills to efficiently perform daily work activities.
- Must have good problem-solving skills and make sound business decisions.
- Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as being a good listener.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Strong Microsoft Office applications skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point)
- Customer service driven with the ability to meet customer needs in a timely fashion.
