Role Description
This is a full-time, Music Therapist role based in Anderson, IN. The Music Therapist will engage clients in therapeutic music interventions tailored to their unique needs. Responsibilities include planning and conducting music therapy sessions, assessing client progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to advance treatment goals. The therapist will work closely with individuals across diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, and clients in hospice or palliative care. Professional documentation of session outcomes and active participation in supervision and training opportunities will also be integral aspects of this role.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Music Therapy and a thorough understanding of therapeutic interventions involving music.
- Knowledge and experience in working with individuals with Mental Health needs and Developmental Disabilities.
- Proficiency in creating and implementing effective treatment plans for clients from diverse populations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet the needs of varying age groups and abilities.
- Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) and a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Music Therapy or related field.
- Previous experience within community-based programming or healthcare settings is preferred.
