Role Description
This is a full-time position located in Anderson, IN, for a Board Certified Music Therapist. The Music Therapist will be responsible for creating and implementing music therapy interventions tailored to the needs of diverse client populations. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting assessments, setting individualized goals, planning and leading music therapy sessions, documenting progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to enhance client well-being. The role also involves participating in continuing education opportunities and maintaining compliance with ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Board Certification (MT-BC) and a degree in Music Therapy
- Proficiency in conducting assessments and developing resource- and person-centered treatment plans
- Skilled in leading music therapy sessions for various populations, including those with ID/DD, substance use disorders, mental health needs, and hospice/palliative care
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills for working with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with documentation practices and understanding of compliance standards in healthcare and therapy settings
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in diverse environments, including community-based and school settings
- Commitment to professional development, supervision, and remaining current with best practices in the field
- Experience with multicultural and trauma-informed care approaches is a strong plus
