What will this role achieve?
Technical Operators are accountable for carrying out tasks within the machinery. They will work closely with the ATM/ Supervisor about any issues that they come across to ensure customer supply. And carry out tasks that need a hands-on approach and operating machinery. The role will need flexibility and good communication skills. All training given.
The role needs someone who has a “can do” attitude, and works hard to keep high standards while being part of a busy team. Will move lines across the factory as and when required.

Assessments – Swift Comprehensive Aptitude assessment along with a Workplace English assessment. These should take around 45– 60 minutes to complete.
Interview – 45-60 minute competency-based interview based on our company values and your experience.

What will be your key deliverables?
- Prioritise and agree allocation of tasks within Technical Operator Team
- You’ll take responsibility for keeping things running well in your area, including tiered meetings
- Establish high standards of work and proactively develope continuous improvement within the area
- Carry out all pre-start checks
- Ensure product is made to the correct quality and specification
- Understand equipment and machinery set up
- Ensure changeovers are completed to procedure Ensure any re-work procedures are followed
- Carry out machine changeovers
- Make adjusts to machinery settings to maintain product consistency
- Ensure all documentation is filled in correctly and to the right standard
- Always maintain everyday factory standards safely
- Shift handovers are completed in area and to agreed agenda
- Train peers and new operatives in equipment use and procedures when required
- Undertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenance
- Ensure team understand the planning of their daily tasks
- Communicate directly with relevant person to resolve any issue
- Prioritise and agree allocation of tasks within Technical Operator Team
- Machine fault identification, diagnosis and rectification (where applicable)
- Confirm and prioritise production activity in line with production plan
Bring your experience
- Basic numerical and literacy knowledge
- Manual dexterity
- Basic communication skills
- Basic problem recognition
- Excellent team working skills
- Be able to multi-task and have the drive and tenacity to work under your own initiative
- Positive attitude and willingness to drive change within operational environment
- Previous experience is desirable but not essential, training will be given.
- Knowledge of manufacturing environment and of HACCP and safe systems of work
- Understand zonal Key Performance Indicators (production targets, waste levels and line performance)
