What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field-Programmable Gate Arrays Engineer position at PIXIE?
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Design Engineer to support the development of advanced digital control systems within Magnetic Resonance (MR) technology. This role focuses on designing, developing, and testing FPGA-based solutions using VHDL in a highly regulated, embedded systems environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in digital design, simulation, and hardware validation, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex circuit boards and FPGA systems. This position requires hands-on involvement across the full development lifecycle, including coding, prototyping, testing, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, simulate, and debug VHDL code for FPGA-based designs
Design and execute comprehensive test procedures to validate system performance and compliance
Create detailed technical documentation, including design specifications and test plans
Build and evaluate prototypes using both simulation models and physical hardware
Troubleshoot FPGA and circuit board issues using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
Collaborate across hardware and software teams to deliver high-quality embedded system solutions
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Minimum 10 years of FPGA development experience, including VHDL design, simulation, and hardware testing
Strong experience with circuit board and FPGA troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with lab instrumentation
Ability to work onsite in Waukesha, WI
