The Arts Education Program Coordinator provides key administrative support to all staff members in the Arts Education department. This position coordinates with Arts Education personnel to address administrative and logistical needs for a variety of programs, including teaching artists, workshops, residencies, school day matinees, and other arts education events in the Trust Arts Education Center, schools, Cultural Trust venues and in the community. As part of the larger Programming, Arts Education, and Community Engagement (PEACE) unit, the Program Coordinator may work collaboratively with PEACE colleagues to support other Trust signature programs and festivals throughout the year.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, or at least 2 years’ related experience.

Work Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in arts administration, operations management, event planning, and data analysis required. Experience working with youth program coordination and/or coordination of arts education programs preferred.

Supervisory Experience: No prior supervisory experience is required.

Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets. Familiarity with arts and education industry terminology preferred. Familiarity with social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram preferred.

Intangibles: Collaborative, detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated. Possesses strong communication and project coordination skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and calm demeanor to work with teaching artists, educators, and students with different personalities and backgrounds. Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Essential Functions:

Main job responsibilities:

  • Assist with teaching artist contracts, addendums, supplies, registration lists, etc
  • Work a flexible schedule that will require occasional evenings and weekends to provide on-site support as needed for workshops, performances, festivals and other events
  • Coordinate event logistics, hospitality, setup/reset the venue
  • Provide communications and coordination between the Arts Education Department and its Teaching Artists and community partners
  • Maintain programming databases and departmental files
  • Assist with program evaluation and data collection
  • Maintain social media channels and assist with outreach and communication efforts
  • Work cross-departmentally to respond to inquiries and assist with various projects and duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Supervisory responsibility: The Program Coordinator does not have any direct supervisory responsibility; however, this position may assist with the management of teaching artists.

Decision-making responsibility: The Program Coordinator uses their discretion when establishing and maintaining deadlines for program operations.

Budgetary responsibility: The Program Coordinator helps monitor budgets for specific event-related expenses.

Strategic responsibility: The Program Coordinator helps develop and maintain program evaluation tools and data collection strategies.

Reporting requirements: The Program Coordinator provides some internal reporting within the Arts Education department.

Travel requirements: Limited travel locally is required for this position.

Physical demands: This position involves mainly office work – occasional lifting up to 20-30 lbs. may be required. The individual should be able to sit and/or view a computer screen for extended periods of time. When supporting performances or events, walking and/or standing for extended periods of time may be necessary.

Salary range starting at $42,000
