What are the responsibilities and job description for the Learning Specialist position at Pitsco Education?
A Learning Specialist serves as an educational and curriculum expert for Pitsco Education and partner product lines. This role’s primary purposes are to design, write, produce, and maintain content for the Pitsco Education and partner product lines. Communication and coordination with partners on the development of curriculum specific to partner products is also necessary. This role is responsible for collaborating with school officials and sales representatives in the creation of program designs utilizing Pitsco products. Additional areas of focus include the support of Pitsco programs implemented into schools through activities such as site visits, virtual meetings, or communications. A Learning Specialist also creates new and updated workshop resources as needed to support the students and teachers in various Pitsco Education programs. These tasks are accomplished by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
• Developing hands-on STEM, coding, robotics, career, e-learning courses, and other curriculum product lines
• Updating curriculum for software, hardware, equipment, or content changes
• Evaluating student and teacher success and determining ways to increase success rate through Pitsco products and services
• Evaluating educational tools, innovative technologies, and potential partner products for inclusion in the Pitsco portfolios of products
• Writing blogs, newsletters, and other marketing material and presenting at conferences, teacher workshops, and employee development
• Maintaining a knowledge base of current educational issues and trends in research and implementing when appropriate
• Correlating and aligning curricula to national and state content standards
• Communicating with partners and organizations about specific needs for project development
• Serving as a resource for Sales, Marketing, and Customer Relations departments
• Collaborating and building rapport with school officials and sales representatives to develop customized curriculum solutions
• Analyzing school district course offerings to determine applicable Pitsco solutions
• Providing demonstrations for prospective customers
• Providing professional development on Pitsco Education programs
• Overseeing designated school locations utilizing Pitsco Education solutions and assisting with the installation of curricula or furniture, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in education or subject matter area required; master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of two years’ teaching experience required
• Knowledge of how to align state and national education standards to instructional products and solutions strongly preferred
• Ability to work on and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
• Excellent organizational skills required
• Must show originality and creativity, enjoy writing, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must possess a positive attitude and work well in a team environment
• Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products required
• Proficiency in using AI tools to support curriculum creation, program design, and continuous improvement of learning resources
• Technologically literate; multimedia-based instructional design experience desired
• Ability to learn quickly and perform duties independently
• Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds
• Valid state-issued driver’s license required
• Ability to travel up to 50 nights a year
• Experience facilitating professional learning and skillfully engaging adult learners during hands-on product onboarding and implementation sessions
