Project Finance Associate - Utility-Scale Renewables
Remote (West Coast)
Piper Maddox is partnered with a renewable energy development platform evolving into a fully integrated Independent Power Producer. The company has built a strong reputation developing utility-scale solar, battery storage, and transmission infrastructure projects.
As the company continues to scale, it is expanding its internal project finance capabilities and seeking a Project Finance Associate to help support the next phase of growth.
Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and enhance project finance and valuation models
- Support development capital, construction financing, permanent debt, and tax equity processes
- Analyze project economics, financing structures, and investment opportunities
- Assist with lender, investor, and financing partner diligence requests
- Prepare investment memoranda, financial presentations, and transaction materials
- Partner closely with development, engineering, and executive leadership teams
- Monitor portfolio performance and support strategic capital planning initiatives
- Conduct market research and financial analysis to support business growth
Requirements:
- Experience supporting utility-scale solar and/or battery energy storage projects
- Strong financial modeling skills with the ability to build, modify, and maintain complex models
Understanding of project finance structures and capital stack components, including:
- Development capital
- Construction debt
- Permanent financing
- Tax equity
- Knowledge of the renewable energy project lifecycle
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and technical aptitude
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
