Lead Revenue Accountant
Location: Houston, Texas, or San Francisco, California (Hybrid)
Piper Maddox is partnered with a leading renewable energy company that develops, owns, and operates high-quality wind, solar, storage, and transmission assets across the U.S. and globally. They have more than 30 operating power facilities and a mission to transition the world to clean energy.
They’re looking for a Lead Revenue Accountant who can take ownership of the revenue cycle across their wind and solar assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly revenue invoices for offtakers and ISO settlements.
- Support month-end close activities, including revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Analyze financial data related to energy transactions to support revenue recognition, variance analysis, and forecasting.
- Ensure all revenue processes comply with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements across the billing and revenue lifecycle to enhance efficiency.
- Support ongoing system and process upgrades, including work within Oracle ERP and other revenue tools.
- Oversee and lead three analysts.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Certification: Active CPA required
- 5–7 years of revenue accounting or public accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working with Oracle ERP or similar financial systems.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving systems.
- Renewable energy experience is a plus, but strong accountants from other industries are encouraged to apply.
