Associate Account Director

Piper Maddox is partnered with a leading energy services firm that helps public power utilities and other clients navigate wholesale energy markets through portfolio management, trading, and analytics, and is looking to add an Associate Account Director/Account Manager for California markets to their team! This role serves as a trusted advisor to clients while partnering with internal trading and analytics teams. The preferred location is Bellevue, WA, with candidates in other locations also considered.

Responsibilities:

• Build and manage client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and coordinating across trading, analytics, and settlement teams
• Advise clients on CAISO and EDAM market design, energy hedging, clean energy procurement, Resource Adequacy, and long-term PPAs
• Help clients navigate regulatory requirements involving CAISO, the CPUC, the CEC, and CARB
• Lead cross-functional portfolio management teams, oversee new client integration, and report portfolio performance and market developments to client leadership
• Identify opportunities to expand services and win new clients, supporting the sales process from initial engagement through closing
• Travel regularly to client sites and industry events

Qualifications:

• 10 years of related industry, customer service, or training experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• Extensive wholesale energy market experience, including power and natural gas market dynamics
• Knowledge of CAISO and EDAM markets, California procurement, Resource Adequacy, and congestion revenue rights preferred
• Experience with public power utilities, CCAs, energy procurement, or long-term PPAs preferred
• Proven ability to build client relationships, communicate complex information, and collaborate across functions
