What you’ll do as Construction Manager:
- Construction Execution – Lead and oversee all site construction activities from
mobilization through mechanical completion and commissioning, ensuring work
is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications,
drawings, procedures, and contractual requirements. Coordinate daily activities
between EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives to
maintain alignment across all work fronts. Monitor contractor performance
against approved schedules, budgets, and productivity targets, proactively
identifying potential delays and implementing mitigation measures.
Independently assess and verify construction progress to ensure accurate
reporting and successful project delivery.
- Contractor & Vendor Management – Serve as the primary on-site
representative for EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a
collaborative and accountable project environment. Lead daily, weekly, and
monthly construction coordination meetings, reviewing contractor staging
levels, productivity performance, resource allocation, and recovery plans. Hold
contractors accountable for performance expectations through structured
corrective action processes and coordinate vendor support activities, including
equipment installation assistance, inspections, and technical field services.
- Site Safety Leadership – Lead a zero incident safety culture across the project
site by promoting strong safety leadership and ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements. Lead site safety
reviews, toolbox talks, and incident investigations while actively monitoring
contractor safety performance. Exercise authority to stop work when unsafe
conditions or practices are identified and ensure corrective actions are
implemented promptly to maintain a safe working environment.
- Schedule & Project Controls – Maintain oversight of detailed construction
schedules and project controls, ensuring execution remains aligned with key
project milestones and objectives. Identify critical path activities and emerging
risks, implementing recovery strategies where necessary to protect the project
schedule. Support look-ahead planning, construction sequencing reviews,
progress forecasting, and reporting activities while coordinating site logistics and
workface planning to maximize productivity and construction efficiency.
- Quality Management – Ensure all construction activities are executed in
accordance with project quality standards and specifications. Support the
implementation of inspection and test plans (ITPs), coordinate site inspections,
manage punch-list activities, and oversee the resolution of non-conformances.
Verify the completion of handover documentation, including As-built records
and quality documents, ensuring all quality requirements are met prior to project
handover.
- Commissioning & Project Handover – Support the transition from construction to
commissioning by coordinating installation activities required for mechanical
completion, system turnover, and commissioning readiness. Facilitate
equipment energization, startup, and testing activities while driving timely
punch-list closure to achieve commercial operation milestones. Work closely
with commissioning and operations teams to ensure a smooth and efficient
handover.
- Stakeholder Management – Build and maintain strong working relationships with
clients, EPC contractors, vendors, and internal project stakeholders. Provide
regular construction updates to project leadership, participate in executive
project reviews when required, and ensure emerging risks, issues, and
opportunities are identified, communicated, and escalated in a timely manner to
support informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.
Provide clear and timely reporting to executive leadership on project status,
schedule, cost, risk, commercial position and key decisions required.
