Piper Companies is seeking a Technical Support Engineer II to join a growing leader in cybersecurity and data analytics. This is a permanent hybrid role based out of Morrisville, NC is ideal for a systems-level professional with deep experience in Active Directory, Windows Server, and enterprise infrastructure. Technical Support Engineer II will play a critical role in maintaining secure, scalable environments while supporting internal teams and external clients with advanced troubleshooting and systems administration.

Responsibilities of the Technical Support Engineer II include:

  • Administer and support Active Directory, including forests, domain trees, GPOs, and replication troubleshooting
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server infrastructure, including DNS, DHCP, and performance tuning
  • Support hybrid cloud environments (Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online) and enforce secure configurations
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to permissions, authentication, and connectivity across systems
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to escalate issues, improve infrastructure, and document technical solutions

Qualifications for the Technical Support Engineer II include:

  • 2 years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure support roles
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, including ACLs, LDAP, and permission inheritance
  • Proficiency with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and tools like gpresult, rsop.msc, and Event Viewer
  • Experience with SQL Server, including query troubleshooting and performance diagnostics
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and enterprise storage systems (NetApp, EMC, Isilon)

Compensation for the Technical Support Engineer II:

  • Salary Range: $80,000-$85,000/year
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
