The Pioneer Valley Regional School District seeks a part-time Treasurer to work one day per week.
The Treasurer provides timely administration of all District receipts, disbursements, and investments in accordance with Massachusetts General Law and District policy. The Treasurer shall possess substantial professional experience in the laws and procedures that govern municipal and school finance in Massachusetts.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $13,000 - $16,000 for one day per week.
Responsibilities
Record all cash receipts and deposits of the District, including student activity accounts, online payment system and gate receipts in financial software.
Make timely deposits at District’s financial institutions
Manage all disbursements of the District, including the approval of accounts payable and payroll warrants. Responsible for signing all District checks
Set up and monitor online payment system
Serve as Custodian of all funds of the School District, i.e., the general fund, stabilization fund, pension fund, trust and agency funds
Reconcile all bank statements monthly to the Treasurer's Cash Book
Maintain master list of all district bank accounts, including operating, construction, and trust and agency accounts
Balance cash monthly with Director of Finance & Operations
Analyze short-term and long-term cash flow requirements and other financial information and make recommendations to Director of Finance & Operations
Prepare cash flow projections
Serve as borrowing officer for District; with approval of School Committee, borrow such funds as needed to meet District’s obligations
Work with District's financial advisor to issue bonds on behalf of District, when voted by School Committee
Certify assessment amounts apportioned to member Towns annually in accordance with M.G.L. c. 71 16B and the District Agreement of the Pioneer Valley Regional School District
Submit documentation to provide bond annually for the faithful performance of their duties in a form approved by the MA DOR (MGL c. 40 s. 35) and District policy
Perform all other duties as assigned by School Committee (in conjunction with the Director of Finance & Operations and Superintendent)
Appointing authority and supervision
The Treasurer is appointed annually by the School Committee of the Pioneer Valley Regional School District, in accordance with M.G.L. c.71 s. 16A. The Treasurer is supervised by the School Committee and works closely with the Director of Finance & Operations and Superintendent.
