BRIDGES Teacher (Social, Emotional & Behavioral Program)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Building Principal and/or Director of Student Services
POSITION SUMMARY / JOB GOAL:
The BRIDGES Teacher provides academic, social-emotional, and behavioral instruction for elementary students whose behavioral needs significantly impact their success in the general education classroom.
BRIDGES is a structured, behavioral health focused program within the district’s MTSS framework focused on explicit skill instruction, positive behavior supports, and successful transition back to the core classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Valid Missouri teaching certification
- Experience implementing positive behavior supports and using data to guide instruction

Optional: Minimum three (3) years successful elementary and/or special education teaching experience preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide small-group and individualized behavioral and academic instruction aligned to grade-level standards.

Deliver explicit instruction in social-emotional skills, behavioral replacement skills, and self-regulation.

Implement evidence-based positive behavior interventions and reinforcement systems.

Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment.

Collect and analyze academic and behavioral data to monitor progress and inform enrollment, transition, and exit decisions.

Develop and implement behavior support plans in collaboration with the Bridges Team and BCBA.

Facilitate team meetings with teachers, families, and support staff.

Support successful student transition back to general education settings.

Serve as a resource to staff regarding behavior strategies and intervention implementation.
PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATIONS:

Maintain accurate documentation and comply with FERPA and district policies.

Participate in professional development related to MTSS and behavioral intervention.

Work collaboratively and independently to problem-solve complex situations.
