BCMW is seeking a Social-Emotional & Disabilities Manager to lead mental health and disability services within our Head Start program. This role ensures children receive timely, inclusive, and high-quality support while partnering with staff and families to address social-emotional and behavioral needs.

This is an opportunity for a strong leader to strengthen behavior support practices, build staff confidence, and enhance systems for supporting children with diverse needs across the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee disability and mental health services for enrolled children
  • Support teachers with behavior strategies and classroom interventions
  • Lead referrals, IFSP/IEP coordination, and collaboration with LEAs
  • Conduct classroom observations and ongoing monitoring
  • Facilitate case management meetings and behavior support plans
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and families
  • Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards
  • Coordinate resources, consultants, and needed supports

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in early childhood settings
  • Experience supporting children with behavioral or developmental needs
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to confidently coach staff, address concerns directly, and support behavior strategies in real time
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Preferred

  • Master’s degree (MSW, MA)
  • LCSW, LCPC, or similar licensure
  • Bilingual skills

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background checks (DCFS & criminal)
  • TB test clearance

Pay: $53,830.00 - $64,480.00 per year
