The Quality Engineer works to ensure that all products and processes meet the highest level of industry standards. The role also develops, modifies and implements quality evaluation and control systems for PCB manufacturing and assembly.
Essential Job Functions:
- Works with internal departments and customers to ensure quality standards are being met; serves as main customer interface to address quality questions or concerns
- Assists with quality data collection, analysis and reporting
- Drives continuous improvement (e.g., defines, develops and implements APQP and other quality initiatives such as control plans, process flow, PFMEA, RPN Risk Assessment, etc.)
- Works with internal teams to prepare for all audits including ISO, AS9100, NADCAP and DLA
- Assesses root cause for products or materials that do not meet required standards; implements and manages the full cycle of corrective actions
- Accurately documents and tracks quality processes (SCARS, remakes, etc.)
- Review and disposition non-conforming products in the production cycle
- Performs other duties as needed
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly analytical and data oriented
- Ability to maintain high confidentiality standards and practices
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office Suite
- Ability to analyze mechanical and electrical blueprints/drawings (e.g., GD&T)
- Ability to analyze industry/customer specifications and contracts
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, related field or comparable industry experience
- 2 years of related work experience
- Working knowledge of PCB manufacturing, Six Sigma, LEAN
- Experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management Environment
- Experience with continuous process improvement techniques
