Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, customer-focused Barista Shift Lead to join our mobile coffee bar in San Francisco. As a Barista Shift Lead, you will lead daily shift operations, mentor team members, and help deliver the best possible experience to our guests. You’ll serve as a role model on the floor, ensure consistency in drink quality, uphold cleanliness and safety standards, and contribute to a welcoming environment for both customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise all aspects of the shift, including opening/closing duties and team coordination
• Ensure smooth operations and excellent service during your shift
• Step in to support wherever needed; bar, register, prep, cleaning
• Train and coach baristas on drink preparation, customer service, and shop standards
• Provide clear guidance, feedback, and support to help your team grow • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and motivated team culture
• Deliver genuine hospitality with every interaction
• Handle guest questions, concerns, and complaints in a professional, solution oriented way
• Maintain eye contact, smile, and promote product knowledge
• Prepare beverages consistently and accurately according to recipes • Monitor inventory levels, communicate needs to management
• Enforce food safety and sanitation protocols
• Open and close the store according to procedures
• Operate point-of-sale system accurately
• Assist with inventory counts and ordering when needed
Qualifications & Skills
Required
• 2 barista experience in a fast-paced coffee shop environment
• 2 years in leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills • Passion for coffee, hospitality, and customer service
• Reliable, positive, and team-oriented mindset
• Comfortable working quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to ~30 pounds • Flexible schedule including mornings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
Preferred
• Previous barista, coffee, or hospitality experience
• Knowledge of specialty coffee or advanced brewing techniques
• Experience with POS systems (e.g., Toast, Square)
• California Food Handler’s Card
Salary : $28 - $35
