We’re seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic team. Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like
- Utilize professional engineering license to apply current engineering principles and theories, design specifications, and federal, state, and local design standards to develop plan sets and specifications for roadway projects;
- Prepare and review plans, making decisions regarding layouts, alignments, standard designs, tabulations, specifications, quantities, acquisitions and clearances, etc.;
- Review and approve designs for assigned projects and stamping the engineering plans;
- Perform computer-aided drafting and modeling for conceptual through final design preparation;
- Serve as various government agencies representative and provide expertise in meetings with public, local/state entities, businesses, railroads, special interest groups, utilities, consultants, contractors, and specialty units; and
- Manage the work of staff and consultants for local agencies in order to accomplish project completions.

You’ll be a great fit if you have this:
- 10 years of Experience;
- IL Professional Engineering licensed required;
- Knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD and other manuals relative to this role;
- Knowledge of State, Municipal, CTA, and Metra systems and operations;
- Exceptional leadership skills;
- Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing assignments;
- Strong networking skills, and able to develop business and partner with public and private organizations
- Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills;
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, both written and oral;
- Strong attention to technical detail and accuracy;
- Proficient in MicroStation, Projectwise, Synchro, Civil3D,GeoPAK, ArcGis, and BlueBeam. Knowledge of Open Roads Designer is a plus ;
- Experience with Permitting;
- Experience with Phase I Traffic & Environmental Studies;
- Experience with Phase II Design;
- Strong written and oral communication skills; and
- Self-Motivated and Ambitious.
Compensation
The compensation range is a good-faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skill set, and physical work location.

Salary : $104,000 - $135,200
