Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal according to engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine bending sequences and dimensions.
- Perform precise measurements using micrometers and other measuring tools to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Deburr and finish metal parts to remove sharp edges and prepare them for subsequent manufacturing processes.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading metal sheets and finished components.
- Maintain press brake equipment by performing routine inspections and minor adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with quality control and production teams to address any issues related to part accuracy or machine operation.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal properties and handling techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or formal training in press brake operation or metal fabrication.
- Experience with punch-press machines and other related metalworking equipment.
- Familiarity with computer numerical control (CNC) press brake programming.
- Strong understanding of material handling best practices and safety standards.
- Previous experience working in durable goods manufacturing or a similar industrial setting.
