POSITION OVERVIEW
This role directly impacts organizational cash flow, financial accuracy, and compliance risk mitigation. This role ensures timely revenue collection, accurate financial coding, and organizational compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, tax regulations, and donor reporting requirements. This person reports to the CFO and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial activities while providing strategic financial guidance to support the nonprofit's mission. The Revenue & Compliance Analyst will partner with leaders of comparable programs to foster best practices. The ideal candidate will have:
- 1-3 years of experience in nonprofit accounting or financial management
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, including fund accounting, and donor reporting requirements
- Proficiency in Excel
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Knowledge of nonprofit regulatory requirements and compliance standards
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Accounts Receivable Aging Analysis
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports
- Proactively follow up with customers to collect outstanding payments
- Maintain and improve AR tracking tools (spreadsheets, templates, communication workflows)
- Execute structured outreach using standardized communication at each aging milestone
- Escalate high-risk or significantly overdue accounts as needed
- Identify trends and recommend process improvements to reduce outstanding balances
Cash Application & Revenue Processing
- Manage incoming payments across multiple revenue systems/platforms
- Accurately code revenue to appropriate cost centers
- Prepare and submit payment documentation to Finance for entry into Sage Intacct
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of all submitted financial data
- Identify discrepancies or missing information and resolve them proactively
Compliance Management
- Maintain and oversee organization-wide Compliance Calendar
- Track all compliance requirements including reporting deadlines, filings, and deliverables
- Communicate upcoming deadlines to responsible staff with sufficient lead time
- Follow up on pending, due, and overdue compliance items
- Improve compliance tracking systems and communication workflows to reduce risk
Financial Review & Month-End Support
- Review financials post month-close for accuracy
- Identify inconsistencies, unusual variances, or coding errors
- Collaborate with Finance team to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Support continuous improvement of financial reporting accuracy
- Assist in strengthening internal controls through detailed review processes
Operations and Outcomes
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial operations tasks
- Strengthen processes that improve cash flow and reduce financial risk
- Track key metrics such as AR recovery and compliance completion rates
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and automation across responsibilities
People and Community Development
- Develop partnerships internally and externally
- Build relationships and engage community

Work Plan (Estimated Time Allocation)
Daily (4–6 hours/day)
- Process and code incoming payments across revenue platforms
- Monitor AR aging and conduct customer follow-ups
- Respond to internal and external financial inquiries
Weekly (10–15 hours/week)
- Perform AR tracking analysis
- Send compliance reminders and track completion
- Analyze AR and compliance trends
Monthly (10–12 hours/month)
- Conduct post-close financial review
- Identify and investigate anomalies
- Recommend process improvements
